Arrived Alive!

Hello,

Well, we've officially been here 1 week and 1 day. The flight was long, but uneventful. All 500 pounds of our luggage arrived with us and we had no trouble getting through customs. Just for the record, it is a 15 hour time difference between here and American Eastern Standard Time. So, when it's 2:00pm Friday here it's 11:00pm Thursday where you're at... I think.

We've been to the mountains and the ocean in our week here and even seen some koalas (see pictures). The scenery has been outstanding and the Ozzies have been as outgoing as you may have heard.

There is less than a 1% rental vacancy here, so we've yet to find permanent housing. Tomorrow is a new day though and we've got several places to go check out.

Things that stand out so far: very few billboards, all the cars are small... Ozzies love an El Camino, incredibly out-of-doors culture, sports enthusiasts, everything is expensive-- a 6 pack of beer is $14!

If you want to talk (for free!) download Skype (it's free!) to your computer.
