Out and About

*Heading south east towards the Red Bluff.

Today I took the train down to Brighton Beach (south east of the city). I went to explore the coastal trail that follows along the water. Though it was a pretty nice day there weren't too many people out-- maybe everyone was out looking for the elusive TomKat.

I did not see tomkat, but I did have a run-in with a wayward giant jellyfish.

4th of July

I spent this 4th of July at my first footy game. The rules seem relatively simply- keep the ball moving and try to score. There are no pads and the shorts are short. Footy is the national pastime.

It was a total blowout. Last years champions (known as the premiers) scored only 45 points compared to the 133 scored by the 8th ranked Western Bulldogs. I had a really good time and I'll be able to explain the rules to John the next time we go (I'll also try to capture some action shots next time).
