The path of the Bluebelt...

*After the match.

As you probably know upon moving to Australia I decided to take up Taekwondo. What an undertaking it has been. After a year and a half, countless bruises, and enough sore muscles to last a lifetime I have attained a Bluebelt. This is apparently the middle of the road on the journey to the Blackbelt. Yep, you got it, it is only HALF way!

Below is my last match as a yellow belt at the Victorian Sparring Championships. All I can really say is that it was one of the longest 3 minutes of my life! I am in blue...

Believe it or not I am still pretty banged up!

Hey sis,
Thanks for the encouragement! Scoring is as follows; 1 point for kick to chest, 2 points for spinning kick, 3 points for head kick. Believe it or not my right foot is just starting to feel normal again. -Bro

Johnny,
Those are some serious kicks. I bet you were banged up and very sore. Glad you got some USA advil to help with the pain. Congrats on earning blue belt. I know you will go all the way and earn a black belt before you return home. Really like the recap of your visit. What special memories.. Memaw hated she missed her birthday call from you but we had taken her out to eat. Imagine that!!
Love you and miss you both!

Hi Johnny and Jama,
Belated happy birthday wishes. I was thinking of you on August 24th, I just never got the e-mail sent. Hope your birthday trip was spectacular.

I am duly impressed with your match. I wonder if your opponent will ever be able to father children. It looked like you did some pretty serious damage. The black belt must be just around the corner.
Love,
Aunt Susan
